“I am deeply devoted to the teachings of the Bible and my faith. I find great joy and fulfillment in studying and sharing the Word of God with others. My passion for the community is rooted in my belief that we are all children of God and must support and uplift one another. Through my work as a pastor at Redemption City Community Church in Houston, TX, I strive to create a space of love, acceptance, and unity within our community. It is my goal to guide and support those in need and to spread the message of love and compassion to all. I am honored and grateful to serve as a pastor to those in my community.”
Meet Pastor Clark Crawford, a dedicated leader who has a passion for preaching and building close relationships with his congregation. With years of experience, he guides his members on a spiritual journey while also cherishing valuable moments spent with them.
The Romans Road of Salvation
The word "gospel" means good news. Why is it good news? Because God made a way through Jesus Christ for all who are separated by sin to receive eternal life and freedom.
Romans 3:23
“...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God...”
The word 'gospel' literally means good news! The reason it's good news is because there is bad news. Why would anyone believe they need the gospel unless they understand their need? Romans 3:23 is a foundational reminder that we are all sinners. No one is inherently righteous, and no one keeps God's commandments perfectly. God is holy, and every single human being has fallen short. Sin separates us from having a relationship with a holy God. We need a Savior.
Romans 5:8
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
The second stop on the Romans Road emphasizes the unconditional love of God toward the sinner. We were unlovable, but He loved us. We were hopeless, but He gave us hope. In our spiritually dead condition, God chose to show mercy, grace, and kindness by sending His Son Jesus Christ to take the penalty for our sins upon Himself on the cross.
Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
The earned payment for sin is spiritual and eternal death—separation from God. Just like a court system enforces justice for broken laws, God's holiness demands justice for sin. But the second half is the glorious gift: God offers eternal life freely through Jesus Christ! Jesus took the penalty on the cross so that everyone who believes may receive eternal forgiveness and life in His presence.
